Allison Pataki is a New York Times Bestselling author of two books on Hungary’s favorite queen and empress—Sisi.  Those books, The Accidental Empress and Sisi: Empress on Her Own, are novels based on the actual historical events that occurred in Sisi’s life from her years as a young Duchess living in Possenhofen Castle in Bavaria, to her time as Empress of Austria-Hungary living in Vienna, Austria, and Gödöllö, Hungary, to her death in September of 1898 in Geneva, Switzerland, at the hands of an assassin—and many other events in between.

Allison is also author of bestsellers, THE QUEEN’S FORTUNE, THE TRAITOR’S WIFE, WHERE THE LIGHT FALLS, as well as the nonfiction memoir BEAUTY IN THE BROKEN PLACES and two children’s books, NELLY TAKES NEW YORK and POPPY TAKES PARIS. Allison is the daughter of the former Governor of New York, George Pataki.
